The story "Refugee Boy" tells how 14-year-old Alem gets stranded in England and gets caught up in the mills of the English asylum system. The book describes the difficulties of finding one's way alone in a foreign country and being solely dependent on the goodwill of strangers. Alem is very lucky and receives exemplary support. Due to the simple language, the book Refugee Boy is also suitable for English classes and encourages discussion and further study of the topics "refugees" and "flight".
